ISLAMABAD : Afghan President Hamid Karzai has arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday on a two-day visit, Aaj News reported.
He will hold meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday.
Chairman Senate Farooq H Naek and federal ministers welcomed the Afghan President at Islamabad airport.
LAHORE, Mar 09: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif, sending reply to Governor Slaman Taseer’s letter in black and white, termed governor’s allegations as baseless, saying Taseer needs counseling in this wake, Geo news reported.
Shahbaz also called upon President, Prime Minister and Chief Election Commissioner Punjab for taking legal action against Salman Taseer’s conduct.

JHELUM, Mar 09: A five-year-old British boy kidnapped in Pakistan nearly a week ago is alive and police are making progress in the investigation, a police official said on Tuesday.
Sahil Saeed, who is of Pakistani origin, was abducted last Thursday after gunmen barged into his grandmother's house, held the family at gun-point for hours and then left with some valuables and the boy.
4 get life imprisonment in women burial case
QUETTA, Mar 09: The Anti-Terrorist Court in Jaffarabad on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to four of the accused in the 2008 burial of five women.
Meanwhile, ATC Judge Mohammad Alam Mengal acquitted 16 others in the live burial case. However, one accused Zahid Ali was sentenced to six months in prison.
The four awarded life imprisonment include Ghous Bakhsh, Rehmatullah, Mir Allah Bakhsh and Mohammad Arif.

Mary Josephine Ray, who was certified as the oldest person living in the United States, died Sunday at age 114 years, 294 days. She died at a nursing home in Westmoreland but was active until about two weeks before her death, her granddaughter Katherine Ray said.
Gilani to visit Brussels for summit with EU
ISLAMABAD, Mar 09: The Foreign Office announced on Monday that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani would travel to Brussels next month to attend a summit with European leaders, making it clear that he is the country’s ‘chief executive’.
“Prime Minister Gilani will represent Pakistan at the second Pakistan-EU summit in Brussels on April 21, 2010,” Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said.
